Poetry: Anytime, Anyplace, About Anything

The Discombobulated Cowboy Discombobulated, the cowboy decided to ask for directions, Who to ask? He looked around trying to make his selection. To say he was alone in the world would not have been hyperbole, For there was not another soul as far as the eye could see. Some local bison were partaking of lunch, munching on prairie grass, He tought about asking them how to reach Rattlesnake Pass. Some carefree squirrels were shimmying up and down the great oak trees, But the cowboy feared his question would get lost on the breeze. Some jackrabbits were out touring the surrounding terrain, But rabbits are so quiet, communicating sure would be a pain. He had no horological piece, so he had to estimate what time it was, At last he set up camp because his brain was full of fuzz. He was miles from Rattlesnake Pass, is what he guesstimated, He didn’t know it was in sight behind him; he was discombobulated. ©Donna M. Monnig Today’s NaPoWriMo prompt was to write a poem using the same word to begin and end it. Discombobulated just has such a nice ring to it. NaPoWriMo prompt: Day 18
Guess he learned his lesson about sleeping! Little did he know that NOT sleeping has just as many consequences as sleeping. Again, love it. Your poems are awesome, Donna.

Your comments on my poems are what’s awesome! I especially love your commentary on these cowboy poems! It’s so much fun seeing what you’re going to say about him next. He’s not doing so well, I may need to send him your direction for some advice… except, he’d probably just get lost.
God Bless,
Donna

Somehow I knew you were going to say that! I’ll have to think on it.

Great, now I’m predictable… lol! You don’t have to name him if you don’t want. It’s just a suggestion.
