Hello Tragedy [Poetry: Anytime, Anyplace…]

Poetry: Anytime, Anyplace, About Anything – Hello Tragedy

By, Donna M. Monnig

Today’s NaPoWriMo prompt was to write a poem of greeting. I dedicate “Hello Tragedy” to all of the people affected by the events at the Boston Marathon.

Peace Dove

Hello Tragedy
Hello Tragedy,
       I wish it had been
              a long time.
To never see you again
       sure would be fine.
No offense now, it’s
       not that I blame you,
You can’t control
       that which others do.
You’re just the by-product
       of what others create,
You have no control
       over people’s fate.
It sure is tragic
       that your destiny,
Is controlled by those
       with no morality.
I hope this ‘Hello’
       is also goodbye,
Just remember,
       the human spirit,
              will never die.
Sincerely signed,
       hope for another day –
That disagreements can be
       solved another way.

Very nice poem. It’s so sad that there was something to dedicate it to though.
