Hay Day Dismay (NaPoWriMo Day 6)

Horses eating hay
Hay Day Dismay
By Donna M. Monnig

The horses chomp
and munch the hay,
I’ll have to buy more
soon – to my dismay!

They’re eating me out
of house and home,
I need a prairie for
them to roam!

My wallet would
have more green,
If only the grass
could be seen!

I love my horses, they
are precious to me,
But hay doesn’t grow
and bale itself for free!

Today’s NaPoWriMo challenge was to write a poem based on what you saw when you look out your window. I didn’t follow the guidelines exactly, but this is what caught my attention when I looked out of my window.
