Wine, Love, and Chocolate
By, Donna M. Monnig

Wine is like a sunset,
burning bright for moments only,
When the glow is gone
it leaves us empty, leaves us lonely.

Love is just an ideal,
an over romanticized notion,
It leaves us disappointed,
’cause there is no magic potion.

Wine and love and chocolate,
we’re told all go hand in hand,
But chocolate is the only one
worth trying to understand!

Today’s NaPoWriMo challenge was to write an

type of poem, which includes writing about love and wine, or to write an anti- Anacreontics poem. Mine is definitely the latter! Happy Writing everyone!
