 Don’t let it be you who went too far,                                                                              That night you and your date made out in the car.

Don’t let it be you who smokes the first cigarette,                                              Getting yourself and others addicted and will later regret.

Don’t let it be you who leads the drinking brigade,                                                     Or who starts cheating to get a higher grade.

Don’t let it be you who puts others down,                                                                   Don’t think you’re better an regard others with a frown.

Don’t let it be you who starts talking trash,                                                              Don’t let it be you who does something rash.

Don’t let it be you who goes drinking then drive,                                                    Don’t let it be because of you that someone’s not alive.

Others will always do stuff that they shouldn’t do,                                                    All that I’m asking is: Don’t let it be you.
