Feel the Storm
By, Donna M. Monnig

Thunder shakes the earthen floor,
I hear the wind’s lonesome roar.
I feel the rain upon my skin,
I see the lightning flash again.
I smell the storm in the air –
Beautiful, yet full of terror.
I taste the rain upon my lips,
I watch the water as it drips.
The summer air still feels warm,
As I calmly watch the storm.

Today’s NaPoWriMo prompt was to write a poem using at least three of the five senses. I didn’t follow the prompt exactly, but it’s close.

Beautifully written, and the rhymes, i like it. It’s ironic that when storm comes in our place, no one likes to be outside, instead will make sure to find refuge on higher grounds possible.

    • Thank you so much! I’ve always liked storms – so long as they’re not too severe – and I enjoy being out in them so long as I can do it semi safely.
Thank you so much for your comments!

      God Bless,
      Donna
